Fitchburg payroll database: Search what every city employee made in 2025

The Fitchburg employee who earned the most in gross pay last year was a patrol officer, according to city records.

Patrol Officer Tabitha Pepple earned a total gross pay of $235,886.11 in 2025. The second highest earner was Police Chief Steven Giannini, who collected $226,480.72 last year. Four of the top five highest grossing employees in the city in 2025 were members of the police department.

Pepple and Giannini were the first and second highest earners, while Police Captains Christopher Garcia and Jeffrey Howe were the fourth and fifth highest earners. Garcia collected a gross pay of $197,375.34 and Howe collected $193,165.39. The only non-police department employee who made the top five was Fitchburg Public Schools Superintendent Jonathan Thompson.

Thompson was the third highest employee in total gross pay, earning $224,409.78 in 2025.
