The Fitchburg employee who earned the most in gross pay last year was a patrol officer, according to city records.<\/p>\n

Patrol Officer Tabitha Pepple earned a total gross pay of $235,886.11 in 2025. The second highest earner was Police Chief Steven Giannini, who collected $226,480.72 last year. Four of the top five highest grossing employees in the city in 2025 were members of the police department.<\/p>\n

Pepple and Giannini were the first and second highest earners, while Police Captains Christopher Garcia and Jeffrey Howe were the fourth and fifth highest earners. Garcia collected a gross pay of $197,375.34 and Howe collected $193,165.39. The only non-police department employee who made the top five was Fitchburg Public Schools Superintendent Jonathan Thompson.<\/p>\n

Thompson was the third highest employee in total gross pay, earning $224,409.78 in 2025.<\/p>\n
